Window and door trim continues for weeks!

Not too much exciting island news. I have been just working on all the window and door trim for several weekends in a row.

Big Tim moved that last big dirt pile from the build to the back of the property and removed a large hump that lined the very back of the property along the vineyard. This all just makes the overall yard look much bigger and less cluttered.

2021 KI Opening Weekend

Opened both cottages this weekend, starting on Saturday 3/20. The ferry opened on Monday 3/15, but had to shut down due to weather 3/18 and 3/19.

Weather was awesome!

I stopped at Menards on the way and picked up lumber at 6:15 am in Sandusky. I made it to the ferry by 7:05 am and there was a huge line at the ticket booth. Made the 8:00 am boat and rolled on to the island.

When you are working alone, I had to figure out the best way to unload a full bunk of tongue-n-groove pine. I just backed up the truck to the back door slider. Nice!

Got the water working without issue at both properties. Overall, very productive weekend. Here is the first fire at Southaven for the season. Super happy!

Southaven final 2020

114 Southaven exterior progress for 2020

Bye bye KI

Closing weekend for Kelleys Island 2020. Not much progress on Southaven, other than fixing the major squeak in the stair landing. I added tons of missing framing and used an entire tube of Liquid nails. Solid and quiet now!

Also, super boring, this is a sump pump discharge line repair for "Our House" on Lower Cliff. This is a photo under the deck. I had to crawl under here in the mud with all the tools and such, big fun...

I finished winterizing (both houses) on Sunday afternoon, got on the ferry and headed east.
